Congratulations to some local hockey players

This summer has been a great year for some of our bantam and midget players.  Two graduating players, Marc Chabot and Brady Bjornson have both been invited back to the Powell River Kings main camp, and will be playing Junior hockey this upcoming year.  Connor Cross attended two Junior A camps, making the Young Guns all star game at the Burnaby Express prospect camp, and will be attending the Powell River Kings main camp.

Kyle Horsman was drafted by the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL, and will be attending his first Thunderbirds camp in August, Kyle also made the young guns all star team at the Express prospect camp, was invited back to the Cowichan Capitals camp, and also attended the Victoria Grizzlies prospect camp.

Goalie, Scott Legault was one of 68 players from across BC, invited to try out for the inaugural U-16 Team BC tryouts in Penticton, July 1st to 4th, this was a result of his good showing at the BC Cup tournament in Salmon Arm.  He also made the young guns all star team at the Express camp, and tried out for the Cowichan Capitals.  He will be attending two WHL tryout camps, the Vancouver Giants rookie camp, August 20, and 21st, and the Spokane Chiefs main camp in Spokane, starting August 26th.

Josh Macey went to three Junior A prospect camps; Alberni Valley Bulldogs, Powell River Kings, and the Burnaby Express.  Ryley Dempster and Geoff Webb also tried out for the Burnaby Express and the Powell River Kings, as well as some Junior B teams.

Overall it was a great summer for a number of local hockey prospects, and hopefully the BCHL exhibition game in September will have some local kids playing in it.
