SCRD One Goal Program for 4-8 year olds

First-Timers Hockey Program for Kids ages 4-8
*Program is full with a 12 person waiting list as of July 13th, 2010*
A five day program designed to expose kids to the game of hockey. Included in the registration fee is a First Timer Rental Equipment kit including all necessary equipment, skates and stick. Kids can try hockey for the first time with minimal financial cost to the parents. Hopefully the fun and camaraderie of the game itself will turn first-timers into life-timers! Heros Hockey Summer Mini Camp
August 23rd-27th (Monday- Friday)
Session Time 2:00pm-3:00pm
For Beginners ages 9-12
*Heros program is 50% full as of July 13th, 2010*
A five day program designed to expose kids to the game of hockey. Included in the registration fee is a Equipment kit including all necessary equipment, skates and stick. Kids can try hockey for the first time with minimal financial cost to the parents. Hopefully the fun and camaraderie of the game in itself will turn first-timers into life-timers! The Instructors will share Heros behaviours in a safe environment in which to learn life skills and build self esteem. All net revenue will be donated to the Heros Program in the Fall of 2010.

SCRD Summer Hockey School
Aug 16-20 Tykes - PeeWee Division Players
5 action-packed days of on-ice and off-ice activities at Gibsons & Area Community Centre. Each day (approx. 6hrs) consists of 2 ice times, lunch break (food incl.) & an off ice activity which may include anything from soccer, baseball to swimming at the Sechelt Aquatic Centre (transportation by bus incl.). Participants & parents/guardians are to attend a pre-camp meeting prior to their first ice session on Monday, Aug 16th. Players may be regrouped according to skill level. Equipment needed: full hockey gear incl. helmet with face mask and a neck guard, clothng for outdoors, running shoes, shorts, track pants, ball cap, water bottle, towel, and an extra change of clothes. Maximum 30 participants per division. NOTE: A direct link to this activity on the SCRD website will come once the activity is on-line.
